Sales and license terms.

1. Your seller

PreMask AI is offered by Ludovic Marie, Chemin des Bucherons 10A, 1234 Vessy, Suisse. Contact: ludo47j@gmail.com. These terms cover the Mac and Windows apps and their activation. A subscription to another AI service is not included.

2. What PreMask AI does

PreMask AI extracts text, suggests details to mask and restores recognized placeholders in AI responses. Detection and restoration run locally. You review the output and decide what to share. Masking does not guarantee complete detection, anonymity or permission to share professional documents.

The primary Mac edition requires an M1 or newer Mac and macOS 13.3 or later. The Windows edition requires Windows 10/11 64-bit, Intel/AMD x64 or ARM64; 8 GB RAM is recommended. The Intel Mac standard edition remains in private testing. See supported formats and limitations. Previews and restored files may differ in layout from the original.

The Apple Silicon and Windows editions bundle their local AI model. No Apple Intelligence subscription, API key or model setup is needed. Intel standard mode does not include AI name recognition. The license covers your own compatible Apple Silicon Macs and Windows PCs. Do not purchase it for an Intel Mac, phone or tablet. The initial Windows installer has no Windows publisher certificate yet: SmartScreen or a managed-PC policy may block installation. Before purchasing, check that your device permits installation without disabling your organization’s protections. Windows updates are authenticated with a PreMask AI signature and can be installed from the app; this does not remove Windows’ unknown-publisher warning.

Check the extracted text, every masking suggestion, missed details and identifying context before sharing. Check the restored reply before relying on, copying or exporting it. Detection, OCR and restoration can be wrong. We do not claim a measured universal error rate or that mistakes are necessarily rare. PreMask AI does not verify the accuracy of a third-party AI’s response and is not professional advice.

3. Ordering and payment

Payments are sold through Link, Stripe’s merchant of record service. Link handles payment collection, applicable indirect taxes in covered markets, transaction receipts and payment-related support. PreMask AI remains responsible for the software and product support. You can manage purchases, subscriptions and refund requests at link.com. Availability is limited to supported sales territories; checkout confirms eligibility.

Create an account with a confirmed email, choose a USD plan, review the terms and check the Stripe summary. You can change your choice before the final confirmation creates a payment obligation. Stripe may offer a local currency through Adaptive Pricing. Its displayed final total and currency apply to your order.

Prices include applicable taxes. Stripe may include conversion fees in a local price; your bank may also charge currency conversion fees. Your order is confirmed after payment is accepted. Receipts and confirmation are sent by email. Your license is linked to your account; download the app and sign in to activate it.

4. Free trial, monthly or lifetime

Your first monthly subscription includes a free 3-day (72-hour) trial with a payment card or another Stripe-supported payment method required. You are not charged at signup. At the end of the trial, USD 9, including applicable taxes, is charged automatically, then every month unless you cancel before that deadline. Stripe shows the first billing date and it is confirmed by email. Your accepted Stripe local-currency amount applies; later currency conversions may vary. One trial is offered with the account’s first subscription; resubscribing does not create a new trial. Lifetime and Founder plans do not include this trial. Cancel before the 3 days end in My account → Invoices, payment and cancellation, or on Link, to avoid any charge. Cancellation during the trial stops the first charge and preserves access until its deadline unless you request immediate cancellation. If you cannot sign in, contact support before the deadline. Statutory rights remain applicable.

A monthly plan renews each month at the price disclosed at purchase. Cancel future renewals through “Invoices, payment and cancellation” in your account. Access continues until the end of the paid period.

A lifetime plan is a personal license with no expiry or recurring payment for the acquired version. Published PreMask AI updates are included. It does not promise permanent compatibility with future operating systems or unlimited availability of third-party services. Mandatory maintenance and conformity rights remain applicable.

Your license is personal and non-exclusive, for your own compatible Macs and Windows PCs. Sharing or reselling account credentials is prohibited. You retain all rights to your documents.

5. Offline access and expiry

During the trial, the license expires at the end of the 72 hours, including offline, without the three-day grace reserved for paid periods. An internet connection is needed for initial activation. A signed license then remains on your computer. Monthly offline access lasts until the paid period ends, with three days of connection grace. A lifetime license remains locally verifiable after activation.

Cancellation, expiry, signing out or service unavailability does not delete local history. Restoring responses using saved mappings remains available. After a refund, a license may be revoked at the next connection; a persistently offline copy cannot receive that revocation immediately.

6. Withdrawal, refunds and defects

No voluntary change-of-mind refunds from PreMask AI. Stripe may nevertheless approve refunds within 60 days under its Managed Payments policy. Mandatory consumer rights remain. We do not offer a discretionary money-back guarantee for lifetime, Founder or monthly purchases. This policy does not restrict statutory withdrawal rights, remedies for defective or misdescribed software, duplicate or unauthorized charges, or any refund or compensation required by applicable law. Ending monthly renewal does not itself refund the current paid period; applicable statutory remedies remain available.

EU and UK consumers generally have fourteen days from the contract date to withdraw from a digital content purchase, subject to longer periods or stronger protection under applicable law. Swiss law does not provide a general statutory right to withdraw from online purchases. Where withdrawal rights apply, contact support to exercise them. Accepting the terms or starting to use the app does not by itself waive that right. This checkout does not collect a waiver of statutory withdrawal rights. State your request, account email and purchase date; do not send confidential documents.

For a defect or an advertised feature that fails, contact support with the app version and reproduction steps. Mandatory warranty, conformity and legal remedies remain available. Refunds owed use the original payment method unless another arrangement is permitted by law. Canceling future monthly renewals and withdrawing from a purchase are different requests; specify what you need. If you cannot access your account, contact support to cancel.

For Australian consumers, our software comes with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. A major failure may entitle you to a refund or replacement and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Other failures may entitle you to a remedy within a reasonable time. Consumers elsewhere retain all mandatory remedies applicable in their country.

You can use this withdrawal message, without being obliged to use this wording: “To Ludovic Marie: I withdraw from my PreMask AI purchase. Account email: […]. Order reference and order date: […]. Name: […]. Date: […].” Send it to the support email above. Do not include a password, payment-card number or confidential document. Where a withdrawal refund is due, we will process it within the deadline required by law, generally fourteen days after notice under EU/UK rules, using the original payment method unless you agree otherwise without a fee.

7. Data and support

For statutory withdrawal, use the online withdrawal form. For an account data export or closure request, visit Account data. Contact support if you cannot sign in.

Your account manages access and licensing. Document history stays encrypted on your computer, without a server backup. Loss of your computer or local encryption key may make history unrecoverable. Keep the originals and exports you need.

8. Third-party licenses

The local Davlan DistilBERT model, converted and quantized by Xenova, is distributed under the Academic Free License 3.0. Accepting these terms also means accepting that license for the model. It applies independently of the commercial PreMask AI license. Other attributions and licenses are included in the app’s Information section.

The source weights are published by Davlan and the distributed conversion by Xenova. No affiliation or endorsement is claimed. These commercial terms do not restrict rights granted by those licenses.

9. Responsibility and limits

You decide what to share and remain responsible for following applicable law, confidentiality duties and your organization’s rules. The software assists your review; it does not authorize disclosure or guarantee anonymity, security, legal compliance or a correct final document.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, business interruption, and disclosure caused by your decision to share unreviewed content. Where a contractual cap is lawful, our total contractual liability is limited to the amount you paid for PreMask AI in the twelve months before the event, including your lifetime purchase price if it was paid earlier.

These limits do not apply to fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, mandatory consumer guarantees, statutory refund or compensation rights, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. They do not remove our responsibility for our own breaches where the law requires a remedy.

10. Applicable law

Swiss law applies, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. These terms exclude no mandatory right and do not prevent consumers from bringing a claim before a court available to them by law.

The version accepted when ordering governs that order. Future changes do not retroactively change an agreed price or acquired rights without an applicable legal basis or agreement.
